THE WAVES
Punta Miramar is home to some of Nicaragua’s most consistent and uncrowded surf. The area offers a mix of reef and beach breaks, catering to surfers of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
Directly out front, Miramar Point delivers long, barreling right-handers, perfect for experienced surfers looking for powerful rides. For those seeking variety, the nearby river mouth at Puerto Sandino offers dreamy, sand-bottom waves with sections for all abilities. Beginners and intermediates can also enjoy playful reef breaks like Shacks and Shifty’s, while advanced surfers will love the heavy barrels at The Boom.
NON SURFING ACTIVITIES
"I've stayed at quite a few surf camps over the years and this is definitely one of my favourites. Perfect location right on the beach, good board selection, amazing food and it had a nice family feel that made the lodge feel very safe and special. Miramar is a sleepy Nicaraguan fishing village with 2 main beaches and 2 bars, this was perfect for the quiet solo surf trip i wanted… and the line ups were quiet! Greg is the best host and really took the time to explain the spots and guide you when the big sets rolled in. We surfed 3 decent spots up the coast by boat and he also sorted a day trip to the boom. Watching him get barrelled was epic! I would strongly recommend this lodge to anyone considering nica and looking for a good location and great guide
