For those seeking smaller waves, the best time to visit El Salvador is during the small wave season from November to early April. This period offers stunning conditions with clear water, blue skies, offshore winds, and occasional cold fronts. The beach breaks become particularly active and deliver excellent surfing opportunities.

The prime surf season wave season spans from April to November. April is usually a nice month, with the weather still clear and the first swells of the year starting to roll in. The rainy season begins in May, bringing some rain and occasional river runoff that can temporarily affect water clarity. However, the water clears up quickly, and the rainy season often provides the most glassy conditions, with most rain occurring at night, leaving the days perfect for surfing.
